Member Login Script - Minor Update 3.2

by Daria Kerancheva /  Updates & Releases

We have just released a new minor update to our PHP login script. Let’s go through the latest improvements which you can test yourself using the demo:

Responsive front-end

Members can now log in to and access password protected areas on your website from all types of desktop and mobile devices. The Member Login Script’s front-end interface will adapt to each screen size without compromising the user experience and the quality of the website contents.

Email notifications drop-down

Back-end admins will no longer need to scroll down to see all email notification types (Administrator notification, Registration confirmation, Payment confirmation, Registration created, Password recovery). You can now easily select the message you would like to edit from a handy drop-down menu.

Quick links added

If you want to add a new member but haven’t created any Groups yet, you will now be able to set up a Group following a quick link. This facilitation applies to Members, Notes and Groups.

Plugins and framework migrated to version 1.5

All changes to the code are in line with the latest best practices, which makes our Member Login Script more reliable and secure than ever before. You can be sure that your information will be safe.

We have also fixed some small bugs on the PHP login script in order to improve the overall usability. Those who have purchased previous versions of our Member Login Script will notice the difference. They can download the latest version for FREE anytime.

I have a customized version of this software. It no longer works and the host says to me that it needs to be higher version. What should I do??

something isn't right. I'm getting a blank page (no login form)
this is supposed to be a dev licence but changing anything in the options file triggers the install routine which goes into a loop. Seems like all I can change is the css?
Is there any pointers or examples anywhere? I don't mean demo, that is just a back end not much use to why I can't load the form. I need an example php page with the form in it to compare..

Hi Richard,
you can change all the PHP code and the CSS files. If you empty the config file, where MySQL login details and installation paths are stored, the installation is triggered again as the script can't run. I see you have an open support ticket and my colleagues will assist you with it.

Thanks Sasho and they did resolve the issue which was php version.
Could you give me an example such as how to remove the copyright from the footer in the admin view? It will help me understand where to find things - thanks

Hi Sasho
Having read the page on how the code works in MVC it is a little clearer to me.
It is functions I need to remove in particular the captcha plugin.

Problems with phpjabbers are that they are more money oriented than customer oriented and your products are expensive.

Sad that you lack the human aspect !

How can I get the update? Does the Responsive front-end also applied to the Registration Form? Can the order of the attributes on the Registration Form be changed i.e. put the input attribute for Password at the top of the form?

Yes, it's responsive. Changing the order of the fields can be done via the code only - we can point you to the file that needs to be edited.

Will I loose all my custom modification work if I use this new version?

@Steve Yes! they're afraid so, hence the hesitation to reply to you. There's nothing they can nor will do to help you with your mods. Sorry mate!

How do you know what they will do to help or reply? Do you have any previous bad experience(s) with this type of issue? Your tone seem to imply a dissatisifed customer.

Hi Steve,

Unfortunately, if you have custom modifications on your script, you will not be able to apply an update for the new version. We've clearly stated that on our website and it's understandable that such upgrades are not possible because for example you may have a script feature removed from your installation and the new version that we launch to have an improvement for it.

Regards,
Sasho

Is it possible to know what and where the changes are so I can see if it will effect my custom work? I understand your website states you may loose custom work after an update but whats the point of having my developer's license then? I cant go back and do the changes again for 10 or 12 sites every time Sasho.

The changes made are listed above in the blog post. You can download the new version for free and compare all the files using file comparing software. There are many changes to list them all here.

With Developer license, you have access to the code and can make your changes. That's the point of it. I am not aware of any software which allows upgrades after it has been modified! For example, if you use Wordpress for a website and make changes to the core of it (not the third party theme integrated into it) I am pretty sure you will not be able to upgrade it when a new version is available. Same applies to our products! I realize that it's not convenient to upgrade multiple installations you may have, but I am afraid there is no other option when you make your changes to them and do not use the default version.
